Vintage Faith Church recently formed a partnership with
First Prebyterian Church in Santa Cruz. Their faiths will remain independent but they will be sharing the
sanctuary, meeting rooms and coffee house. I have the privilege of helping Cheryl Issacson design the Fireside Room.
With a very limited budget, together we have come up with an exciting look that will bring in the Santa Cruz style
while keeping the serenity of a prayer and mediation room area.
These are the before pics. We are keeping most
of the furniture and will be re-upholstering the sofas, painting the walls, adding something special to the fireplace and of
course, new window treatments. One of the main focal points will be three chairs (circa 1862) we
found stashed in the library. They were the original pastor's chairs. A member of First Prebyterian is
having them restored as close to their original style as possible. I'm very excited about this find!
This room will also be used to showcase artwork
by church members. Many of Vintage Faith's members are talented artists, as well as musicians and graphic designers.
